Blackberry Cottage Farm

Photo Little Prints Photography
Blackberry Cottage Farm is a small berry farm in the Oyster River area.  We grow Black Currants, Black Elderberries, Boysenberries and of course Blackberries.  We practice heritage farming.  Everything that comes from our fields is cultivated, harvested and carefully packaged in small batches by us.  Our berries don't need to be washed, because they are never sprayed!  We believe in the importance of sourcing your ingredients locally so you know where your food comes from.

Jim comes from an Amish background where farming and growing your food is a way of life.  We began our farming journey after living in town for many years.  When the opportunity presented itself to buy some land - and a long since empty nest - we decided to make a change.   We purchased 4.5 acres of meadow land 20 minutes south of Campbell River BC.

In Oct 2017, we moved a 70 year old recycled house from Oak Bay onto the property and are slowly restoring it to it's 1940 english cottage charm.  So we are working on the house, planting berry fields, a vegetable garden, a fruit orchard and working our regular jobs... but we are having a great time.

Watch our facebook page for berry availability.  We keep it updated with what is currently being harvested and is for sale both here on the farm and in local stores.

Find us at Pier St Farmers Market in Campbell River every Sunday from mid June to Sept!
